The villa sleeps 10 on three floors [Floor Plans]. Sleeping arrangements are flexible but are ideally suited to four couples or two families with children or family reunions. In the heat of summer it remains cool inside with breezes coming up from the valley below.  The bedrooms benefit from large ceiling fans and fly screens are fitted throughout. In the cooler seasons the house is snug and warm due to the under floor heating, large open fireplace and wood burning stove.  Torricella is inviting at any time of the year.

Bedrooms

All bedrooms have overhead ceiling fans, and all rooms have window insect screens. The master bedroom, which has an antique four-poster bed and stunning views down the valley, has a luxurious en-suite bathroom. The downstairs double bedroom is part of a suite comprising study, shower room and bedroom. The other 2 bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin) share a family bathroom. Additionally, the top floor hayloft has 3 single futons and the downstairs study has a double sofa bed.

The Grounds

The farmhouse is set on the saddle of a hill with far reaching views to the south and west. On the slopes below there are lines of vines and an olive grove. The woodland around the house offers wonderful walks and opportunities for spotting wildlife such as porcupines and black squirrels. In the early mornings you may be lucky enough to see deer feeding in the olive grove.

The Pool Area

The salt water pool is sited to maximise its view over the valley. The black liner not only reflects its surroundings but also keeps the water temperature beautifully warm. There are underwater lights for evening swims. Sun loungers and pool toys are provided, with a dedicated games room by the pool.

Access

Torricella is reached by a 4 km long unpaved strada Bianca which literally means “white road”. You need to allow 10 minutes after leaving the main road to reach the house. This typical Umbrian country road, whilst perfectly usable, would be challenging for a low-slung sports car.

Nearest Amenities

Badia Petroia is a 10 minute drive and has a supermarket and bar with outside seating.

Trestina has three supermarkets, banks, post office, doctor, shops, bars and restaurants, and is on the regional railway line from Perugia.

There is a weekly Farmer’s Market in Umbertide, one of the larger towns not far away. It also has tennis courts.
